In Ao no Exorcist canon, Rin Okumura has what is called "The Flames of Satan". While he himself would rather claim them as his own, they are the same blue flames that his father, Satan, exhibits when possessing a living being on Assiah. Unlike Satan he cannot possess other people or things, but he can use them as a weapon.

That said, there are people who are immune to his flames. As in they do not burn, injure or other wise damage them. Since I don't think it's right for me to pick and choose who can and can't be immune to them, I would like to extend a permission's post to let people decide this, so leave me a comment here with your decision towards your character.

Immunity: Rin's flames won't burn or injure your character, even if he accidentally launches them or intentionally throws flames or tries to attack. They might feel warm, and there may be a bit of a wind along with them, but otherwise they won't do anything.

Non immunity: Rin's flames, even when accidentally thrown, will burn or harm your character. The intensity of the injury will be determined by how hard he's attacking. Rage-induced fits of flames or accidental launching will be no more than slight scorching or first degree burns, a full on attack will likely be third degree burns. Nothing will kill your character unless you specifically say that's what you wish to happen.

I'm not sure if my characters should be immune or not. Sola is made of dark magic and Zelos is at least part angel thanks to his crystal and I don't know if eitherof those factors would grant them immunity, resistance, or go the complete opposite and make the flame damage worse. Help?

Well... the manga is trying to argue that Rin's flames are more "holy" than previously thought, buuuut my Rin is anime and the implications go quite the other direction on that.

So in this case I would say that darkness = immunity, light = none.

That's just my argument towards it anyway.

Zelda: Would be pretty damn effective against her if it gets through her barriers, so we'll need to talk if that ever comes up!

Vegeta: Depends. These flames totally spiritual, or is the burning aspect physical too? Vegeta is highly resistant to physical attacks.

Ion: Would burn up and die.

I doubt he'd ever have a reason to fight Zelda, but should it come up, yes, it'd have to be discussed.

Aaaand they're not totally spiritual, no. The burning is physical and from what both Satan and Rin have done in-series it can range from anything to slight scorching to horribly painful third degree and fatal.

Rin does try to hold back some, though.

Eddie Valiant: Non immunity (being human is a big thing in his canon)

Bugs Bunny: hecklinghare Immune. He's a toon so it's kind of hard to fry him 8D (he'll get crispy though. For comic effect)

For Vatheon, both Shelly (diplomacy) and Walter will fall under the non-immunity category. Walter, especially, by anime implications since he's naturally attuned to the light and weak to elements associated with the darkness. And Shelly's a normal person.

After thinking about it for a moment and considering that Ruca was an arch-demon (but also a god) in his past life and that he himself can use fire (half of his artes is fire type, also fire magic is the only type he can use), I'll say he should be immune.

Looking at your comments re: the light/dark issue, I'd say Jinana would be non-immune while human, but while transformed her null expel/null death skills (basically null light-based attack magic and null dark) would make her immune.

In reference to where you mentioned "darkness = immunity, light = none", Saber would definitely not be immune since she's quite holy/light aligned. Due to Saber's regeneration and magical resistance, he'd really have to be throwing out a flame to do much damage to her. (You say third-degree burns, but I'm thinking Saber would have first-degree burns that would take a day or so to heal.) I do know Ao no Exorcist, and I'm pretty certain that Rin is strong enough even with Saber's magical resistance to do something to her. I'm always open for negotiating. Let me know if you have any thoughts.
