I just wanted to let you know that I'm not sure if I'll be at work tomorrow. Mary-chan got stung by some bees and now she's not able to move very well.
Oh, shit. That's not good. Is she gonna be okay? I can call my d-- [shit he almost said "dad".] b... brother. I can call my brother if she needs some one to look at her.
[ His voice is shaking, and he's so out of it that he doesn't even catch the almost slip-up. ]
I don't know, I'm actually freaking out about as much as she is ... I'd really appreciate it if your brother could come over and take a look at her.
Just tell him to beware of bees? The ones that chased us had some pretty nasty thoughts, and there's no doubt that they'll chase anyone who even so much as passes by them.
[ This three-way thing is not something he does often. Uhh ... okay. He takes a breath to try and calm himself down a bit. ]
So, uh ... hi, Rin's brother. [ HE'S NEVER MET YOU BEFORE, SORRY YUKIO. ]
My girlfriend got stung by a bee, and I was lucky to find her before any more of them could sting her. She's alive, and she's able to talk, but she's not able to move at all. I really have no idea what to do. I'm freaking out, and she's understandably freaking out pretty bad over the whole thing herself.
[ His voice gets a little muffled for a few moments as he goes over to Mary and softly talks with her. He's checking to see where she was stung. He returns to the phone a few moments later, though. ]
Okay. I've been seeing these stings all week, and if she's only been stung once she should be alright. Do your best to keep her in such a way that her hand stays below her heart.
The stinger needs to come out, but it shouldn't be too difficult. You can use your fingernail or anything thin and blunt to gently pry it out. Don't use tweezers or anything that might squeeze. When bees like this sting, they usually leave behind a venom sack that will only inject more venom if you squeeze the stinger.
Once the stinger is out, clean the sting with soap and water. Is she having any trouble breathing or swallowing?
Good. [And she's obviously not allergic or they wouldn't be having this conversation. Things are looking pretty optimistic.] If she develops any problems with breathing or swallowing you should contact the Southtown clinic immediately, but that's not likely to be an issue at this point.
From what I've seen so far, the only thing to do once the stinger is removed is to wait for the toxins to run their course. The clinic down there might have something more to work with, but if they do I haven't heard anything about it yet. You can apply cold compresses to the sting to relieve pain and swelling at the site, but otherwise it's a waiting game.
[Alright, maybe that doesn't sound all that awesome when your girlfriend is the one who's paralyzed, but at least Yukio sounds optimistic?]
Recovery time seems to vary, and if her condition hasn't improved in the next six hours or so, you should contact a medic just in case, but she should make a full recovery.
[ He seems to sound calmer now, and he's on his way back to her now to dig the stinger out and start washing it. He's still not totally calm, but he's much calmer than he had been when he started talking to Yukio. ]
I'll be sure to be with her as much as I possibly can be during all of this, so, yeah, I'll contact the clinic if nothing's improved in that time span.

Okay, yeah. Just... keep calm, okay? The calmer you are the better it is for Mary, alright?
Lemmie see if... I think there's a way to do a three way call on this...--
[Oops. He disconnected. But he's back in a second.]
Sorry! Sorry. Hang on.
[Okay, Yukio. Ring ring.]

Niisan, is something wrong?
[Because something is always wrong.]

Uh, yeah but it's not me.
[click, bringing Seto over in to the call]
Go ahead, Seto.

You did well in getting her out of harm's way. Can you tell me where she was stung and where you are?
no subject
She was stung a little bit away from here. I ... don't know why she was out of the apartment to begin with, but I think she was on her way back to it.
no subject
Alright, but where on her body was she stung?
no subject
Uhhh ... hold on.
[ His voice gets a little muffled for a few moments as he goes over to Mary and softly talks with her. He's checking to see where she was stung. He returns to the phone a few moments later, though. ]
Her hand.

Can you tell if the stinger in her hand?
no subject
As far as I know, it was only once ... She can't move her arm, so I'll make sure she keeps it below her heart.
[ He moves away again to check her hand. ]
Uhh ... yeah, it's still there.

[ He moves to retrieve a small bowl of water and some soap before making any attempts to pry the stinger out. ]
